Out of 150 participating bands, the Third Line Brass Band was the ONLY traditional jazz band to qualify as a finalist.

 

Used by both of these well known artists' production companies to perform at conventions and various events.

 

Performed at several National Jazz Convention functions and at annual receptions in conjunction with the New Orleans Jazz Festival.

 

Performed for numerous state delegation political functions and opening night ceremonies at the 1988 Republican National Convention.  Also performed for Democratic front-runner Michael Dukakis on several occassions.

 

House Band for a 6 month span at the Famous Door Patio Bar on Bourbon Street, one of the oldest and most respected jazz clubs in New Orleans.

 

Performed at various sites at the 1984 Louisiana World Exposition.

 

Performing group for Tulane University football games in the Louisiana Superdome.  Also played at New Orleans Breakers games.

 

Band has played in Feneuil Hall, a historic market place in Boston, Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge Mass, Houston, Texas...Tucson, Az...Biloxi, Miss...and Ft. Myers, Florida.  Additionally toured Germany in '92.  Plans for a forthcoming tour are under way,

 

Group has done many traditional jazz weddings and is being used by severl well respected event planners.

 

Have played for jazz funerals in the New Orleans area and also will stage mock jazz funerals for any occassion.

 

March and play in numerous parades and carnival functions during the Mardi Gras season.

 

Performed at Rouse Development (shopping and entertainment mall) on the Mississippi River.

 

The band has opened up for the Beach Boys in the Louisiana Superdome and also for the pop group Expose' at the Ocean Club in Metairie, La.

 

Performed regularly at conventions in and out of the New Orleans area, including AHEPA and American Bar Association National Conventions.  Also performs annually at the Greek Festival in New Orleans, La.

 

Local, regional and national television exposure during Mardi Gras, Superbowls, Final Four, and Republican National Convention.  Band has been filmed in several features about New Orleans, also appears in Wavelength's 1989 Band Guide.  Band featured in broadcasts across North America on one of the oldest jazz radio programs in existence.  Featured on local television morning show WDSU's "The Breakfast Edition" in March, 1989.

 

Currently in release nationwide, with forthcoming release in Europe.
